Mayor of Tamale commends Radio Tamale at 10th anniversary celebration

The Mayor of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Adam Abubakari Takoro, has commended Radio Tamale 91.7 for its decade-long contribution to information dissemination, public education, and community development across Northern Ghana.

Speaking at the station’s 10th Anniversary Celebration held at the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly Auditorium, the Mayor described the occasion as a significant milestone in the growth and impact of the media institution.

The celebration, which was held under the theme, “Celebrating A Decade of Amplifying Voices and Connecting Northern Ghana,” brought together several distinguished dignitaries, stakeholders, media practitioners, and community members to commemorate the station’s achievements over the past ten years.

In his remarks, Mr. Takoro praised Radio Tamale for its unwavering commitment to professionalism and responsible journalism, noting that the station has consistently provided a credible platform for the voices of the people to be heard.

According to him, the media outlet has played a vital role in promoting unity, preserving culture, enhancing education, and supporting socio-economic development within the Northern Region and beyond.

The Mayor further congratulated the Management and Staff of Radio Tamale on what he described as a remarkable achievement and encouraged them to remain objective, responsible, and circumspect in their broadcasts.

He stressed the importance of ethical journalism in sustaining public trust and strengthening the station’s position as one of the leading radio stations in Northern Ghana.

The anniversary celebration formed part of activities marking ten years of Radio Tamale’s service to the people of Northern Ghana through news, education, advocacy, and entertainment.
