Tolon, May 11, 2026 — The District Chief Executive for the Tolon District, Seidu Braimah, has outlined a series of development achievements recorded in the area since January 2025.

Speaking at a meeting in Nyankpala on May 9, 2026, Hon. Braimah gave an account of projects and programmes implemented across the district, including efforts to boost economic activity, youth empowerment and education infrastructure.

He said construction of a 24-hour economy market is currently underway to support local businesses and encourage entrepreneurship. According to him, the project was handed over to contractors a few weeks ago, with work now expected to progress steadily.

Hon. Braimah said community elders have welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step toward strengthening economic activity in the district.

He also revealed that several young people in the district have benefited from the National Youth Authority apprenticeship programme, which is aimed at equipping them with vocational and entrepreneurial skills. Under the programme, beneficiaries received training in trades such as hairdressing, dressmaking and other practical skills to help them start their own businesses.

The DCE further noted the rollout of the “Feed Ghana” programme in the district, saying about 893 people have been trained and registered under the initiative to support livelihoods and improve food production.

On education, Hon. Braimah cited the renovation of the Galankpegu D/A Primary School in April 2025 as one of the key interventions undertaken to improve learning conditions for pupils in the community.

He said the projects reflect the district’s commitment to development and improving the lives of residents across Tolon.
