The flagbearer of Ghana’s opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has held discussions with the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Christian Rogg, at the envoy’s residence in Accra.

In a post after the meeting, Dr Bawumia described the engagement as highly productive and said the discussion focused on Ghana’s partnership with the United Kingdom and opportunities for continued cooperation.

He said the talks highlighted what he called a strong legacy of collaboration between the two countries and a shared vision for Ghana’s next chapter.

Dr Bawumia also referenced the UK-Ghana Business Council, which he co-chaired while serving as Vice President, saying it had helped attract major investments that supported critical infrastructure projects.

He further expressed appreciation to the High Commissioner for commending efforts to promote issue-based political engagement instead of personal attacks.

The meeting comes as Ghana’s political landscape continues to sharpen ahead of future elections, with international partnerships remaining a recurring theme in public policy discussions.
