Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, has met with Martin Guettler, Resident Director of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Ghana, to discuss women’s leadership, youth development and social inclusion.

In a statement after the meeting, the Vice President commended FES for its long-standing support of women in leaders lookhip and urged the organisation to continue training programmes that equip women to take part more actively in governance and public life.

She said that after the passage of Ghana’s Affirmative Action legislation, the focus must now shift to effective implementation.

The meeting also highlighted the need to invest in Ghana’s youth by building their confidence, skills and leadership capacity. The Vice President described Ghana’s youthful population as both a challenge and an opportunity for the country.

Both sides agreed to continue working together to promote inclusion, leadership development and sustainable social progress, with the Vice President saying Ghana’s doors remain open to partnerships that advance these goals.
