Nanton DCE allegedly calls for immediate removal of district finance officer over alleged misconduct

Tamale, Northern Region ~ The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nanton District Assembly, Hon. Rosina Zenabu Abdul-Rahaman, has reportedly called for the immediate removal of the District Finance Officer, Hajia Sumaya, from the district, citing allegations of sabotage and disrespect.

In a strongly worded message addressed to the Northern Regional Accountant, the DCE expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the finance officer and requested that her transfer be expedited.

Hon. Rosina Zenabu Abdul-Rahaman urged the Regional Accountant to ensure that Hajia Sumaya leaves the Nanton District before the close of the week.

“I have had enough of her sabotage and disrespect,” the DCE stated in the communication, adding that whether or not an official transfer letter had been issued, the officer should be instructed to leave the district to allow for peace within the Assembly.

The DCE further indicated that any personal belongings belonging to the finance officer should be collected from the office immediately, while any property belonging to the district should remain in the office.

She stressed that the officer should not return to the Nanton District Assembly premises after her departure.

The communication, described by the DCE as her “last message” on the matter, highlights apparent tensions within the district administration and raises concerns about administrative relations at the Assembly.

As of the time of filing this report, Hajia Sumaya had not publicly responded to the allegations, and the Northern Regional Accountant had not issued an official statement regarding the request.

The developments are expected to attract attention from stakeholders within the local government service as they await official action and clarification on the matter.
