Work has resumed on the reconstruction of the Kakpagyili community roads, bringing renewed relief and optimism to residents and motorists in the community.
The long-awaited project is expected to improve movement in the area and make it easier for people to walk, ride, and drive without difficulty. For years, residents of Kakpagyili have struggled with the poor condition of the road, which caused discomfort, delays, and safety concerns for commuters.

On April 27, 2026, the community witnessed fresh activity on the road as reconstruction works restarted. The development has been widely welcomed by residents who say it marks an important step toward solving one of the area’s most pressing challenges.
According to the Assembly Member for the area, Alhaji Abdul Hafis, the project is being undertaken through the efforts of the Member of Parliament for the constituency and Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu.
He explained that although government funds have not yet been released for the project, the MP has committed personal resources to ensure the road is fixed for the benefit of the people.

Residents say the resumption of work has brought excitement and hope to the community, especially after years of enduring the road’s deteriorating condition.
Motorists and commercial drivers have also praised the move, noting that the bad state of the road often resulted in flat tyres, vehicle damage, and occasional accidents.
Many residents are now hopeful that the reconstruction will be completed on schedule and bring lasting improvements to transportation and daily life in Kakpagyili.
